Finance Assistant Role – Presence & Co.

Presence & Co. is a dynamic property management company operating across the South East of England and Nationwide. As part of the SQIB Group, which encompasses businesses in the leisure, hospitality, and property sectors, Presence & Co. manages a portfolio of approximately 250 commercial and residential units. The company provides a range of services including estates management, facilities, health & safety, maintenance, sales, and lettings.

This newly created role is part of our growing finance team, supporting two finance assistants and a management/service charge accountant. Based at the bustling Salomons Estate office, this position offers an exciting opportunity to get involved and grow with the company during an important phase of expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process invoices, receipts, and payments in Sage50 and Qube/MRI systems.
  • Assist with bank reconciliations.
  • Support billing for service charges, rent, and maintenance.
  • Help with credit control activities.
  • Assist in preparing monthly reconciliations using Excel.
  • Participate in weekly payment runs.
  • Attend weekly internal meetings.
  • Perform ad hoc tasks as required by management.
  • Ensure compliance with financial reporting, policies, and controls.

 

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Minimum GCSE in Mathematics.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive and eager to learn.
  • Multitasking ability and capable of meeting tight deadlines.
  • Positive, can-do attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Prior finance role experience.
  • Knowledge of Sage 50 and Qube/MRI systems.
