As we celebrate International Women’s Day, it’s the perfect moment to shine a spotlight on inspiring women who are leaving their mark in their chosen fields. Today, we’re delighted to introduce you to Jessica Terry, our talented Property Assistant at Presence & Co.

My journey into the property sector was fuelled by my passion for design. With a background in fashion, I discovered a newfound inspiration in crafting beautiful spaces.

Advice for Aspiring Women in Property?

For women aiming to carve out a path in the property industry, I think it’s important to understand the target demographic. By putting themselves in the shoes of potential residents, especially in property design, aspiring women can create spaces that truly resonate with the intended audience.

Exciting Trends Shaping the Property Market?

In my view, one of the most exciting developments in the property market is the focus on home office design in light of the rise of hybrid work. The challenge lies in striking a balance between functionality and aesthetics, creating spaces that are both practical and visually appealing.

Balancing Professional Responsibilities and Personal Aspirations?

Finding a balance between work and personal life is an ongoing journey for me. Depending on the demands of her projects, I adjust my priorities accordingly, sometimes leaning more towards work and at other times prioritising self-care and personal commitments.

Female Leaders Who Inspire?

I draw inspiration from the indomitable Princess Diana, who fearlessly created her own path and stood up for what she believed in.

Dream Dinner Party Guests?

For a dream dinner party, my guest list is Fearne Cotton, Melissa McCarthy, and Mary Berry as her dessert-making skills promise an evening of delicious treats.

Favourite Uplifting Song by a Female Artist?

Katy Perry’s “Firework” holds a special place in my heart.

Favourite Pastime?

In my spare time, I love nothing more than going for a long walk followed by a leisurely pub lunch with friends. It’s the perfect way to unwind and reconnect with loved ones.

Childhood Dream Job?

While my childhood dream was to become a fashion buyer, my journey has led her down a different but equally fulfilling path in the property sector.

Best Advice Received?

The best piece of advice I have received from another woman? “If they don’t give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair.”

… know there is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish.

As we celebrate International Women’s Day, let’s raise a toast to women like Jessica Terry, whose creativity, resilience, and unwavering spirit inspire us all to reach for the stars.
