International Women’s Day: Lily Spencer’s Journey

As we celebrate International Women’s Day, it’s the perfect opportunity to shine a light on the remarkable women who are making waves in their industries. Today, we’re thrilled to introduce you to Lily Spencer, our Head of Marketing at Presence & Co.

What Sparked Your Interest in the Property Sector?

My journey into the property sector was a natural progression fuelled by my background in marketing with my roots in the hospitality industry. I’ve had a personal fascination for all things property and saw an opportunity to expand my horizons and apply my marketing knowledge to an industry brimming with potential. Plus, who could resist the allure of marketing beautiful homes and properties steeped in history and charm?

What Advice Do You Have for Aspiring Women in Property?

For women aspiring to succeed in the property industry, my advice is simple: work hard and be confident. With determination and a positive mindset, the sky’s the limit.

How Do You Balance Professional Responsibilities and Personal Commitments?

I always try my hardest to be present in every aspect of life. Whether I am at work or spending time with loved ones, I make a conscious effort to fully engage in the moment. Especially with a lot of my role being on my phone and social media, I try to not let it consume me.

Who Are Your Three Dream Female Dinner Party Guests?

For my dream dinner party, I’d have, the fitness influencer Whitney Simmons, Margot Robbie because… well it’s Margot Robbie – and I would have loved the presence of Her Majesty the Queen, to learn all about her incredible life.

Favourite Song by a Female Artist, and Why?

This is so hard for me! There are so many fabulous songs by amazing women, but as we’re on the subject of International Women’s Day I have to say “Pretty Isn’t Pretty” by Olivia Rodrigo. It’s a great message to young girls.

I also love “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” by Kate Bush – It’s such a ‘you’ve got this!’ song.

Favourite Pastime?

You’ll often find me at the gym! I adore Olympic lifting, and recently started Muay Thai, which I am absolutely LOVING. It’s a highlight of the week for me – my happy place.

Childhood Dream Job?

Believe it or not, my childhood dream was far from my current role in marketing. Since being a little girl, I always wanted to be a fashion stylist or… a politician, thankfully, I found my calling in the world of marketing as I underwent an apprenticeship at seventeen.
