Celebrating 31 Years: A Journey with Tony Curtis, Maintenance Supervisor

March 23rd, 1993 marked the beginning of a remarkable journey for Tony Curtis, a young man with dreams and aspirations, as he stepped into the world of Auto Windscreens. Little did he know then that this journey would span three decades, filled with challenges, triumphs, and memorable moments that would shape his career and leave an incredible mark on the company.

Tony started his journey at Auto Windscreens as a 20-year-old, eager to learn and grow in the automotive industry. Through dedication and hard work, he attained his NVQ Level 2 & 3 in automotive glazing, laying the foundation for his upward path within the company. Climbing the ladder, he eventually found himself in the role of a supervisor, leading and guiding his team with passion and commitment.

However, the journey was not without its twists and turns. On February 28th, 2011, Tony and his colleagues faced a significant setback as they were all made redundant. Uncertainty loomed, but hope emerged when Markerstudy stepped in and acquired Auto Windscreens. Tony was among the fortunate 250 individuals chosen to rebuild and revive the company, reaffirming his dedication to the brand and its mission.

In 2015, Tony found himself at a crossroads and felt it was time to move on. However, a new opportunity arose in the form of a maintenance role within the Markerstudy Group, (Integra Property Management) and Tony seized it eagerly. Since then, he has never looked back, embracing the challenges and opportunities that come with the role.

Reflecting on his journey, Tony recalls two particularly memorable moments that stand out. The first was a trip to the NEC in Birmingham to celebrate the group’s success, a day filled with music, food and even a live performance from The Script. Little did he know that this experience would be surpassed by another unforgettable Markerstudy Festival at Bewl Water, complete with a surprise appearance by Craig David on the decks. These moments not only brought joy but also strengthened the bonds within the team.

Today, Tony is not just as a member of the team but as a leader shaping the future of Presence & Co., previously known as Integra Property Management. His passion for refurbishing old buildings and bringing them into the modern era is matched only by the satisfaction of witnessing the delight on people’s faces when they experience the “wow” factor.

For those embarking on their journey with the company, Tony offers simple yet invaluable advice: “patience and precision. Take the time to understand the task at hand and strive for excellence in every endeavour. In a young company, reputation is everything, and each job is an opportunity to showcase your skills and dedication.”

As Tony celebrates 31 years with the company, his journey serves as a testament to resilience, determination, and the power of seizing opportunities. Here’s to Tony Curtis, Maintenance Supervisor extraordinaire, and more years of success and fulfilment ahead.
