Rob Laing joined Presence & Co. in September 2023 as a Painter & Decorator and has quickly become a valued member of the team thanks to his passion for the trade, keen eye for detail, and positive, can-do attitude. With a strong foundation built through a City & Guilds qualification in Painting and Decorating, Rob brings both experience and enthusiasm to every job – whether he’s revitalising a dated space or putting the finishing touches on a newly refurbished property.
Having started his career straight from school, Rob briefly worked in an office environment as a barrister’s clerk before realising his true calling lay in hands-on, creative work. Over the years, he’s delivered a range of successful projects, including coordinating a team on a high-end, seven-bedroom property renovation outside Guildford – managing budgets, working with designers, and delivering a standout result.
Since joining Presence & Co., Rob has worked on notable projects such as a gym refurbishment and a Gatwick site renovation, both of which were met with praise from clients and have led to further business opportunities. Rob is a firm believer in the importance of preparation, often crediting the unseen groundwork – sanding, taping, and priming – as the real key to a flawless finish.
