Key Responsibilities
· Carpentry and Joinery: Construct, assemble, install, and repair wooden structures and fixtures, such as doors, furniture, cabinets, and frameworks, according to specifications.
· Technical Maintenance: Carry out general technician duties, including minor repairs, installations, and maintenance to support facility upkeep.
· Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents to accurately follow project specifications.
· Material Selection: Select the appropriate materials and tools for specific projects, ensuring quality and cost-efficiency.
· Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and building codes to ensure safe and compliant work environments.
· Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, contractors, and clients to ensure projects meet expectations and are completed on time.
· Problem Solving: Diagnose issues in structures or fixtures and develop effective repair and improvement solutions.
The candidate would need to have:
· Proven experience as a Carpenter and/or Joiner with relevant qualifications and certifications in the field.
· Competence in performing general technician tasks, including minor repairs and maintenance.
· Strong understanding of carpentry and joinery techniques and methods.
· Proficient in using carpentry and joinery hand and power tools.
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team.
