The Brief
The Tallow, a highly regarded restaurant in Tunbridge Wells, required essential electrical and plumbing works to improve kitchen efficiency and safety. Presence & Co. was tasked with upgrading electrical connections, installing a new boiler, and improving waste management systems while ensuring minimal disruption to the restaurant’s operations.
Our Approach
Electrical Works
- Removed a three-phase connection, ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards.
- Replaced a 32-amp commando socket with a new unit and terminated an existing socket as per requirements.
- Reinstated faceplates throughout the kitchen after the removal of previous panelling.
- Installed client-supplied lighting to enhance kitchen visibility and functionality.
Boiler Installation & Plumbing Works
- Drained and removed the existing boiler and flue, disposing of all waste responsibly.
- Supplied and installed a new 36kW Vaillant combi boiler with a Vaillant system filter and a 10-year warranty.
- Altered pipework to suit the new system, including a full system clean and inhibitor treatment.
- Registered the boiler with Building Control and issued a Gas Safety Certificate upon completion.
- Capped off gas supply in the kitchen where required.
- Installed new waste and traps for three sinks and an upstand for the dishwasher waste.
- Reconnected all taps with new isolation valves for each of the three sinks, improving water management.
